AT&T: Atrix 4G on offer at $200-$500
AT&T has just revealed that it is going to include the Motorola Atrix 4G on its list of devices. Sadly, this mobile phone will not fare as cheap as what we all have expected it to be. If you wish to dock the Atrix 4G, on the Webtop docking station, you will be spending quite a big load of cash. For a 2-year contract, the Atrix 4G on its own will fare at around $200. However, if you wish to include the dock to transform the mobile phone into a laptop computer, the price is at $500. That means that the optional docking station is actually twice as expensive as in the recent news and it is even more expensive than the Atrix 4G.
The Motorola Atrix 4G runs on Android and uses the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. It has 16GB of hard disk space and 1GB RAM. When you dock the phone, it will function like a laptop with a Linux system and it can operate Firefox. You can also still use the call function on the phone. At $300, the Webtop seems to be a very limited use device since it does not have any function without the Atrix. It might be better to just buy a separate laptop or netbook and have your own mobile device separately.
