Internet Explorer climbing
New month, new browser usage figures. Internet Explorer 9 user stattistics have been posted on Microsoft’s IE blog, with Microsoft announcing that IE9 is now used by 35.5% of Windows 7 users, compared with 21% using Chrome and 15.3% using Firefox 11 and 12.
In the US IE9 usage figures have risen to 53%, against 15% on Chrome and just 12.5% for Firefox users. The stats are derived for research by Net Applications, considered by Microsoft to be more accurate than other research agencies’ stats. The Net Applications website reveals that across all operating systems and browser versions, IE8 remains the world’s favorite browser with 26% of total global use. Then comes IE9 with 16, Chrome at 14%, and Firefox 11 on 11%.
