Asus Jonney Shih has a secret weapon for iPad 2
Asus released 4 new tablets this year at CES in Las Vegas , Eee Slate EP121, the Eee Pad Slider and Transformer and the Eee Pad MeMO all of which we reported on. Asus has one more secret in its pocket. Whether it will be a tablet is unclear. Jonney Shih in his interview with IDG News Service talked about his “secret weapon” as he has to battle iPad 2 as it is threatening netbooks market. Mr Shih also predicted more mobility in future years and he foresees only 3 operating systems surviving the upcoming revolution. Competing against giants like iOS, Android and Windows will be tough.
Asus as well as all other companies will have to find innovative ways to bring mobile online services to their customers. Personal cloud computing will dominate future trends. User experience is always a key and lot of work will have to be done on user interface UI as well as 2D and 3D graphics. Lines between personal computing and cloud computing will have to be defined. Jonney Shih made references to making a perfect mix between the two as did Apple with iTunes on a cloud and rest on iOS devices on the personal side.
Is Asus ready to take on Cloud Computing? Jonney Shih concurs storage space was already made possible. Digital home theaters will soon hit a major biggie. On the other hand 3D TV watching with glasses will fail as trend.
