Windows 8 touch AiO solution introduced at CES by Asus transformes into Android Jelly Bean tablet once taken off of the dock.

 

With netvertible tablets and convertible notebooks, that slide, twist and transform, it is no doubt that the touch screen computing is the trend of the day. Perhaps it’s time for desktop solution to follow this trend. Asus showcased an All-in-One solution of Jelly Bean tablet becoming a full fetched Windows 8 desktop once inserted in the dock.

Asus tablet features 18.4-inch multitouch IPS LCD touch-screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution supporting 10-finger gestures. It is run by Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with Jelly Bean on top. Tablet’s own battery will offer five hours on a charge. Once it is inserted in the AiO dock, it adopts Windows 8 OS via Splashtop software. In fact Asus Transformer All-in-One boots both Android and Windows OS. The OS can be switched with click of a button. The dock has Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3 processor. So there are in fact two computers in a bundle. We’re unsure of other specs at the moment, but the starting price will be $1,299.
