Tablets of 2011: things you should know when making purchase decisions
2010 marked the actual year of tablet computers when Apple released the iPad. The Apple iPad outsold every other consumers and it also helped boost the sales of the high end brand. Of course, technology wars will not settle for one supreme leader. Competition is really pushing it to the top and it is showing real promise to many users since there are still some areas of iPad that are disadvantageous for others. Android is showing a lot of strength and it started out in smart phones. With the Honeycomb OS, there is an even stronger competitor to compete. Android based tablets we have reviewed couple of weeks ago.
Brands like LG and Motorola are now creating really strong tablets and Research in Motion has already on its way to release the new Playbook with a revamped QNX Neutrino. HP is also set to release the webOS based tablet, the Touch Pad. For your convenience, we creative a table that shows the most promising tablets that are already available or will be released within the year. Be guided that the list only includes tablet that are going to be released in the coming months. This is so due to having information about the product. Teasers are sometimes not reliable since they do not all make it t the stores.
We are talking about what is hot right now but we will continuously expand on this one.
IPad is still one of the leaders in tablet computers in the market. It is because of its very mature appeal. It also has a very sophisticated OS at once. Of course, with the iPad 2 coming in the next few months or month, it would be wise4 that if you plan to buy the 1st generation, you hold on to your money for the next few weeks. It is either you get the brand new one and add a little bit more on your initial funds or wait till the original iPad has been literally minimized in cost.
Of course, the next best competitor comes in a lot of faces but they all have a common ground: Android. Upcoming tablets like the Motorola Xoom, Adam by Notion Ink and the G Slate from LG are definitely promising purchases. When the Honeycomb arrives, which is designed for actual tablets, you will see more features that you will be able to enjoy like in the Motorola Xoom with amazing hardware and additional accessories that you can really enjoy.
The G Slate is a really beautiful Tablet designed by LG and it has some really nice features and adds 3D content viewing as well as recording. Of course, the Adam Tablet is now for sale and it has some new features to appeal clients like the Pixel Qi Trans-reflective display that you can use to adapt on ambient lighting and for reading outdoors. It may not have honeycomb but it has an intuitive user interface in the name of Eden.
Next on the line are the Windows Tablets but when it comes to overall experience, it is still lacking in many aspects. One good option though if you love Windows is the Asus Eee Slate EP121 is probably the best one on the market right now. It has a very robust hardware and it also has a digitizer pen from Wacom and another one is a keyboard bundled on the package. Battery life might be an issue that should be addressed here.
Of course it would be very interesting to see how the Playbook from Research in Motion and the HP Touch Pad fares in the continuous battle of the tablet computers. The latter one shows that the WebOS has some really powerful multitasking capabilities. However, when it comes to apps, the two brands might go lacking on that aspect.
A lot of tablets are going to populate the tech world in a few months across 2011. if you decided to wait and see how the market responds to options like Toshiba, Lenovo, HTC, Samsung and other brands like MSI, you will definitely have the chance to make a much better purchasing decisions. In technology, sometimes, early adapters would much better be tech experts than consumers. Luckily, the consumers are showing much attention to detail now more than ever.
