How To: Reinstall Ubuntu quickly (Linux)
Many times, something goes wrong with the upgrade procedures, thus resulting in unsuccessful upgrade. There is a simple command that one can use to re-install all the packages. Just type the following in the terminal,
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh -a
Note that it will take upto 1 hour to get everything back working as it will download all the packages from Internet and install them

I typed this in and got the reply:
sudo: dpgk-reconfigure: command not found
@Lee: It appears you have a typo (should be dpkg, not dpgk).
Hi Lee,
is it possible to rollback from Ubuntu 9.10 to Ubuntu 9.04?
sorry, Tim, not Lee
I got message:
dpkg-trigger: dpkg-trigger must be called from a maintainer script (or with a –by-package option)
nothing has to rollback
thak you….its working…can u post me how to work in python…and wat s compile code in ubuntu
Sarath – Unfortunately, I do not know how to work in python
It tells me dpkg-maintscript-helper: error: couldn’t identify the package
What shall i do next? Or would it be best to completely reinstall the system?
Thanks :)
