Archos 5 versus Archos 5 Internet Tablet (Android)
I am very sure that are tons of Archos 5 users that have their eyes on the Archos 5 Internet Tablet, that runs Android OS.
One of the many things that people are expecting to work on the Archos 5 Android Internet Tablet is the Archos 5′s remote. So, does it work? Well, simple answer is NO. It won’t work.
What about the plugins that the people purchased for the original Archos 5? Do they work? NO again, but there is little Archos can do in this regard as Archos 5 Android runs Android OS and thus it makes all the plugins incompatible. Again, NO GAMES of your old Archos 5 would work.
I am many of current Archos 5 users will feel cheated about their accessories being rendered completely USELESS and the inability to use their Archos 5 apps on the Android Archos 5.
Bottomline: If do not own any Archos branded product or you do not have any regret about spending that EXTRA money on games, apps, plugins and accessories, then you can go ahead and still buy Archos 5 Android tablet.

These comments are incorrect, if you have bought the DVR Station for your Archos 5 it does work, if you have bought a Mini Dock, Battery Dock, they will also work. Sure the plugins wont, but thats because they are now mostly included, the only one that is not is the mpeg2 Cinema plugin which I understand will now be included in the price of the DVR Station.
So what was the bad news again???????
Does the Archos remote work? No, it doesn’t
You keep saying the remote does not work. In what way does it not work? If it is as simple as it is broken then that is not on but I am interestwed to hear in which way it “does not work”. Is it that it is simply not exactly what you expected?

This like being mad that your Windows apps don’t run on a Mac or that your iPhone apps won’t run on your Nokia phone, or that accessories for your Toyoto Camry don’t fit your Lexus RX350. Absurd.
I believe Archos should not have named it as Archos 5 Internet Tablet. It is obvious that most of the users are going to have perception Archos 5′s accessories will work with the “Archos 5 Internet Tablet”
Are you talking about the remote for the DVR station?
