The HP TouchPad is famously damned, but a million owners of the tablet are very likely happy enough for the moment. And it seems a lively development community has sprung up to support the tablet – whether never-say-die webOS developers or the Android gang, still hacking away to give the TouchPad full Android functionality.

One such webOS application is Splashtop Remote Desktop. Splashtop has been developed to enable users to control a Windows or Mac computer over the web. In this way it brings a fully touch-enabled interface to a remote PC. Like a touchscreen remote control for your desktop comput. As such, it’s a very powerful mobile tool.
