Chinese Twitter – Sina Weibo

Since Twitter and Facebook are off limits in China, there will definitely be something that will come up. Well, it has arrived and it is in the form of Sina. This is a web portal with micro-blogging features called Sina Weibo that serves like Twitter. According to Sina, the Weibo has increased its users and it now exceeds 100 million with a significant increase in the last quarter of 2010. just recently, new features were added like the instant messaging as well as other location based services. It is becoming very popular and half a billion people (and growing) are already using the services. Just to put it in perspective, Unites States has 212 million registered internet users.
