iTunes 11 update
As predicted iTunes launched today. It had a month delay as Apple wanted to polish few things up, but it is finally here. iTunes has a catalog of 26 million tunes and since inception 20 billion were purchased. Currently Apple has 435 million iTunes accounts.
iTunes 11 is significant upgrade as Apple has been criticized for being too slow. IPad mini is being marketed as iBook, or iTunes major consumption tablet; and now that iPad mini is out and selling truckloads the release of new iTunes 11 is overdue.
Major update of iTunes involves visually very pleasing interface, filled with album covers showing all songs upon clicking on thumbs. It shows your own galleries as well as music available in iTunes Store.
iTunes 11 brings Apple’s iCloud syncing service and improved search functions on both the large and small player.
Ping music social network site has been disconnected from iTunes as it didn’t not integrate itself with other social media and also because it was hammered with spam. Facebook and Twitter are in.
