Transparent Screen is an Android app that is amazingly straightforward in principle – it simply lets you see where you’re walking by making the view from your camera the background image for the Android operating system. Thus you can surf or do anything else with your phone, like Tweet or check sales figures, while walking along.

The transparency can be adjusted, although some apps need greater transparency than others to be usable with Transparent Screen , and video quality should be adjusted to mid or low settings to avod eating up too much processing power on your handset.

Once you have your video feed configured to suit your device and the apps you’ll be using whilst strolling along, you can operate your device and just throw the occasional glance at what’s coming your way – other pedestrians, cyclists, cracked paving stones… real multi-tasking.
