Toshiba Excite X10

Toshiba has launched its new Excite X10 tablet, which will be offered with either 16GB or 32GB storage, for $529 and $599 respectively. The Excite X10 features a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It’s a mere 7.7mm thick, which is a departure from the slightly clumsy and chunky Thrive family of tablets recently released by Toshiba.

Port-wise, Toshiba Excite X10 offers a decent selection; there is a microUSB port, microHDMI socket, an SD card slot, and a docking station interface. The Excite X10 wields a 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor and 1GB RAM, and has a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing LED flash snapper. The Toshiba Excite X10 will run the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, hence the tablet’s edges, which are styled to resemble a pair of wafers.

Excite X10 dimensions are commendable. X10 is 7.7 mm thin (iPad 2 is 8.8 mm thin)
