So, Samsung Galaxy S3 may not be showcased on MWC in Barcelona. However, Samsung isn’t going to come empty handed.

Two new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets are to be shown. Samsung had a quiet CES 2012 in Las Vegas but will seek to emphasize their position as largest seller of Android tablets at the MWC 2012 to be held in Barcelona Feb 27 – Mar 1. In Q4 Smasung was overtaken in the tablet sales league by Amazon, whose Amazon Kindle Fire eReader/tablet was selling at a rate of 1 million units per week. Now Samsung is allegedly preparing to launch new models of its popular Galaxy Tab slate, which before the arrival of the Asus Transformer Prime was widely accepted as the best non-Apple tablet available.

Bad publicity surrounding the bodged Transformer Prime upgrade to Android Ice Cream Sandwich may yet play to Samsung’s advantage; user experience on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was second to none in the Android world.

The rumored upgrades are predicted to bring quad-core functionality with WiFi connectivity, but other sources suggest the biggest shock will be the new displays – there are whispers of an 11.6-inch display, with a resolution as high as 2560 x 1600 pixels. We’ll believe when we see it.
