Android 4.2.2 runs on Intel chips and dual boots with Windows 8
New Android version will run on Windows 8 computers as an alternative OS, but it will not be compatible with older Windows.
The new Jelly Bean 4.2.2 is optimized for Intel chips, but instead of BIOS it supports UEFI, like most Windows 8 machines. For all Windows x86 there is the Android-x86 project.
Android 4.2.2 uses Linux 3.8 kernel and is still under development. Feel free to download Android 4.2.2 to see what it looks like, however, it is still missing support for Bluetooth so don’t dump your Windows 8 just yet.
